We offer a 30-day free trial to all new subscribers so you can try ScreenMate AI risk-free, and if you decide to purchase, we provide a hassle-free 7-day money-back refund from your purchase date – no questions asked. Below we explain the details of the free trial, the conditions for refunds, how to request one, and how we handle the process in a clear and friendly way.
Free Trial Period (30 Days)
- 30-Day Free Trial: Every new subscription begins with a 30-day free trial, starting from the day you sign up. During these 30 days, you can enjoy full access to ScreenMate AI at no cost.
- Credit Card Required Upfront: To activate the free trial, you will need to provide a valid credit or debit card at sign-up. Don’t worry – you will not be charged anything during the 30-day trial period. The card info is only used for future billing if you continue past the trial.
- Automatic Billing After Trial: If you do not cancel your subscription before the 30-day trial ends, your account will automatically convert to a paid subscription. On the day the trial period expires (the 30th day), we will charge the provided payment method for the next billing cycle of your subscription (e.g., the first month’s fee or the annual fee, depending on the plan you selected when starting the trial).
- Cancel Anytime During Trial: You can cancel your subscription at any point during the 30-day trial. If you cancel before the trial period ends, you won’t be billed at all and your trial will simply end with no charge. It’s truly risk-free.
- Trial and Refund Policy: Our 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee (detailed below) applies once a payment has been made. This means if your trial ends and you are automatically charged for a subscription, you still have 7 days from that charge date to request a full refund. In other words, even after the free trial, you have an additional week to decide if the paid service meets your expectations (so essentially up to 37 days of risk-free evaluation). If you’re not satisfied and you contact us within 7 days of the post-trial charge, we’ll refund that charge – no questions asked.
Eligibility for Refunds
- 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee: You are eligible for a full refund if you contact us within 7 days of the purchase or billing date for your subscription. This no-questions-asked refund window applies to any initial charge (including the first charge after a free trial) or renewal charge. (Simply canceling your subscription will not automatically trigger a refund – you must request the refund within this 7-day timeframe.)
- Latest Charge Only: Refunds can only be issued for your most recent subscription charge or purchase. We cannot issue refunds for charges outside of our refund window or for past billing cycles beyond the 7-day period. In other words, charges from earlier months or any one-time add-on purchases that fall outside the refund period aren’t eligible for a refund.
- After 7 Days (Standard Policy): Generally, all sales are final after the 7-day window. Refund requests made more than 7 days after the billing date will usually not be honored (except where required by applicable law or under special circumstances at our discretion). We believe a week is a fair period to evaluate our service. One example of a special circumstance is if you cancel an annual subscription early and request a prorated refund for the unused period – we may consider such cases even outside the 7-day window (see Annual Subscriptions and Prorated Refunds below).
- Annual Subscriptions: If you purchased a yearly (annual) subscription and decide to cancel it before the 12 months are over, you may be eligible for a partial (prorated) refund of the unused portion of your subscription. This is not part of the standard 7-day guarantee, but rather a courtesy we consider on a case-by-case basis. See the Annual Subscriptions and Prorated Refunds section below for details on conditions and how the prorated amount is calculated.
How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are eligible for a refund (for example, you’re within 7 days of a charge and unsatisfied, or you qualify for a prorated annual refund), here’s how to initiate the process:
- Cancel Your Subscription (if you haven’t already): If you intend to stop using ScreenMate AI, we recommend canceling your subscription or account first. This prevents any further billing and helps us process your refund faster. (Note: Cancellation alone does not issue a refund, so be sure to complete the next step as well.)
- Contact Support: Email our support team at support@screenmate.ai within the eligible timeframe (e.g., within 7 days of your purchase/charge, or as soon as possible for a prorated annual refund request). In your email, include the email address associated with your account or any order information, and a brief note that you would like a refund. You do not need to provide a detailed reason for the refund (remember, it’s a no-questions-asked 7-day guarantee), but any feedback is always welcome as it helps us improve.
- Confirmation & Review: Once we receive your refund request, our team will confirm the details and begin processing it. We typically respond within 1-2 business days to let you know the status of your request. (Don’t worry if our reply comes after the 7th day – as long as you emailed us in time, we will still consider your request valid within the refund window.) For prorated refund requests on annual plans, we may take a little extra time to review the account usage and calculate the appropriate refund amount, but we will keep you informed during the process.
Refund Processing
- Refund Method: Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method you used (such as the same credit card or bank account). We will send you a notification once the refund has been processed on our end.
- Processing Time: After we process a refund, please allow 5-7 business days for the refunded amount to appear back in your bank account or on your credit card statement. The exact timing can depend on your bank or payment provider. Occasionally, there may be slight delays due to their processing times (unfortunately, these are out of our control), so we appreciate your patience.
- Currency and International Payments: If you paid in a currency other than USD, the amount that appears refunded in your account might be slightly different from what you originally paid, due to currency exchange rates and possible bank fees at the time of refund. Rest assured, we only refund the exact amount in USD that you were charged; any variance in your local currency is due to conversion rates or bank processing, not an extra charge or shortage from us.
Annual Subscriptions and Prorated Refunds
We value our annual subscribers and understand that sometimes circumstances change. If you have an annual subscription (a full year paid upfront) and choose to cancel it before the year is complete, you can request consideration for a prorated refund. Here’s how we handle these situations:
- Prorated Refund Eligibility: Prorated refunds for early cancellation of annual plans are not guaranteed, but we will review requests on a case-by-case basis. Generally, to be considered, a significant portion of the subscription should remain unused (for example, if you cancel halfway through or early into the annual term). This courtesy is intended for genuine situations where you can no longer use the service.
- Calculation of Refund: If a prorated refund is approved, the amount is typically calculated based on the unused time left on your annual subscription. We will determine how many full months remained in your subscription that you will not be using. For example, if you paid for 12 months upfront and cancel after 3 months, there are 9 months remaining unused – we may refund an amount roughly equivalent to those 9 months. The calculation will use the annual rate you paid (taking into account any discounts that were applied for the yearly plan). We aim to be fair in calculating this amount so that it accurately reflects the unused portion of your subscription.
- Requesting a Prorated Refund: To inquire about a prorated refund, you should contact our support team (as outlined in the steps above under “How to Request a Refund”). Let us know that you are canceling an annual subscription early and would like to request a prorated refund for the unused months. Our team will review your account, determine if a prorated refund is applicable, and inform you of the outcome and any refund amount.
- Support Team Discretion: Please note that prorated refunds are provided at the discretion of our support team. We strive to be understanding and fair, but there may be cases where a prorated refund is not offered (for instance, if only a very short time is left on the subscription, or if there have been previous refunds/credits issued). We will always communicate with you about our decision.
- One-Time Courtesy: In many cases, a prorated refund for an annual plan cancellation is treated as a one-time courtesy. If you subscribe to an annual plan again in the future, we may not offer a prorated refund a second time. This helps prevent abuse of the policy while still allowing us to be flexible for our users’ genuine needs.
Exceptions and Additional Terms
We are committed to being fair and understanding with our refund policy, but there are a few cases and terms to be aware of:
- Repeated or Excessive Refunds: Our refund policy (including the free trial and money-back guarantee) is designed to help you if you’re genuinely unsatisfied. Accounts that show abuse of this policy – for example, repeatedly signing up for new trials and asking for refunds, or frequently canceling annual subscriptions after partially using them to obtain prorated refunds – may not be granted refunds so easily. Such cases may be handled on a case-by-case basis rather than automatically approved. We reserve the right to decline refund requests if we detect a pattern of misuse.
- Policy Abuse or Violations: If a user is found to be misusing our service, engaging in fraudulent activity, or otherwise violating our Terms of Service in a way that prompts a refund request, we reserve the right to decline the refund. Our goal is to be fair and accommodating, but we must also protect our service from misuse. For example, if someone obtained access to the service in a prohibited manner or violated the user guidelines, we may deny a refund associated with that account.
- Legal Requirements: In rare cases where applicable laws require a refund outside of our stated policy (for instance, certain consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction), we will of course comply with the law. This refund policy does not limit any rights you have under such laws. If the law mandates a longer refund period or specific refund terms, those will be honored even if they differ from our policy described here.

Governing Law
This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, since ScreenMate AI Inc. is a Delaware-registered company. By requesting a refund or starting a free trial/purchase, you acknowledge that this policy will be interpreted and enforced according to Delaware state law. (Any disputes arising from this policy that cannot be resolved amicably will be handled in accordance with those laws.) We truly hope, however, that we can address any concerns without any legal fuss.
